French Director Accuses Saaho Makers Of Plagiarism, Says ‘If You Steal My Work, At Least Do It Properly’
Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Saaho, that released this week on August 30, 2019 has been soaring high at the box office with a thunderous opening of Rs 24.4 crore and is now inching closer to the 100 crore mark.  Saaho became the third-highest opening film of the year only after Salman Khan starrer Bharat and Akshay Kumar’s multistarrer film Mission Mangal.  Only a few days ago, makers of the film found themselves in a soup as Diet Sabya slammed them for copying a poster from Shilo Shiv Suleman’s artwork for the poster of the song Baby Won’t You Tell Me. Now, they have landed in yet another controversy.

Now, French filmmaker Jerome Salle has accused the makers of Saaho of plagiarism for copying his film Largo Winch. After the release of Saaho, a lot of fans tweeted the French director and pointed out to him the similarities between Saaho and his film Larg Winch. Now, Salle has finally reacted to these allegations on Twitter. A Twitter user wrote, “@Jerome_Salle Buddy another day and another free make of your Largo winch movie in India #Saaho. you are the real Guruji __/\__” to which Jerome replied with, “I think I have a promising career in India.” In another Tweet, he wrote, “It seems this second “freemake” of Largo Winch is as bad as the first one. So please Telugu directors, if you steal my work, at least do it properly? And as my ‘Indian career’ tweet was of course ironic, I’m sorry but I’m not gonna be able to help.''

As Jerome Salle’s tweet suggests, this is not the first time his film has been copied. Earlier, he had accused a Telugu filmmaker of copying the plot of Trivikram Srinivas’ Agnyaathavaasi from his film.

While Shraddha Kapoor and Prabhas starrer Saaho did not receive positive reviews from critics and fans, it did manage to attract footfalls to the theatres. The film collected a whopping 93 crore nett in four days!
